| The drilling rig is trailer mounted and reaches the proper height by means of hydraulic pistons, step by step up to the final elevation, and the mast is erected by another couple of pistons; the top drive and its cables are already in working position. The fast up/down rig operations mean time saving in moving between two different locations with a significant increase of efficiency and high reduction in moving costs especially when drilling operations are short compared to the moving time (shallow wells). |
